Occupations: She's an IT communications manager at GE Appliances; he's a fnance manager at GE Appliances. How they met: Pursuing their MBAs at Michigan State University. Engagement: After dating for 3½ years, Bob proposed in front of their Christmas tree. "He started his proposal speech standing, with the ring in his pocket," Megan says. "While very heartfelt and romantic, I thought he was kidding, so I said no when he popped the question. When he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring I was so surprised, and fnally realized I still needed to say 'yes!' We joke that he got a 'strong maybe' on the proposal." Wedding: Traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Guests: 169. Reception: Millionaire's Row at Churchill Downs during Downs After Dark. "Most of our family and friends are not familiar with Kentucky and have not been to Churchill Downs. We wanted to make our 'destination wedding' something to remember with our favorite Louisville events and a bucket-list item for our guests," says Megan. Entertainment : The 12 South Band from Nashville played and Churchill Downs' bugle player, Steve Buttleman, introduced the bridal party before dinner. They also had windows set up so guests could bet on the races. DIY touches : Instead of a guest book, the couple had guests sign an empty bourbon barrel from Four Roses that they now use as their cocktail table at home; for favors, they placed bets on every race that night for their guests. First dance song: "All of Me" by John Legend. Advice: Set a curfew for yourself the night before the wedding and take a few moments as a couple to step back from your wedding events. "Taking a few moments at each event to soak in the atmosphere really helped us to refect and embrace every part of our weekend.
