2 2 Fa l l | Wi n t e r B R I D E 2 0 1 5 The Wedding of Sherrie Williams & Dante Rogers Winter Welcome Sherrie says that she and Dante were a little apprehensive about getting into a relationship when a mutual friend wanted to introduce them. "Finally we did meet and we just hit it of," Sherrie says. "I actually went to go get my eyebrows arched from him (Dante's a barber and a mini- mart owner) and it's history from there." On Valentine's Day 2014, she thought it was a little strange that he asked her to go with him to Sysco to sample food for his store, but she went anyway. "When we got to the last course, he disappeared," she says. "When he came back, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Right there in Sysco. The chef that was preparing the food opened a bottle of wine and we celebrated." Sherrie, who dislikes hot weather, decided she wanted a winter-wonderland-themed wedding. First, she says, she scoured Pinterest "like a crazy person" looking for decoration ideas; then she hired a wedding planner to help carry out her vision. "The only thing that was missing were snowfakes," she says. "Everybody told me I was crazy, but I wanted it to snow." Special touches: • To welcome guests in from the January cold, Sherrie had a caterer set up a hot chocolate and cofee bar, complete with favored syrups, fresh whipped cream and chocolate-covered spoons for stirring. • Instead of having a guest book, she put out bowls of blue and silver Christmas ornaments to sign. It went with the winter theme and she liked the idea of being able to remember their wedding on her frst Christmas with her new husband. January 10, 2015
